About our Fishing Trips
Targeted Species Description of Trip
Mackerel, Ling, Blackfish, Cod & Seabass

" Night Hawk Special "

When the Mackerel run in the Winter & Spring, get ready for literally non-stop action catching Boston Mackerel from 1 to 3 pounds, 2-3-4 sometimes 5 at a time! There is nothing quite like Jigging for Mackerel off New Jersey. The Mackerel are thick, and there are some herring mixed in too!. A great way to fill your freezer or smoker and take advantage of this great NJ fishery. After everyone fills up with the macks, we change the tempo and anchor up for some great bottom fishing action catching, Ling, Seabass, Cod, Blackfish, Ocean Pout and some Conger & Silver Eels. (Full day bottom fishing when Mackerel are not running in Feb & Mar) This is fast and steady action as well, so make sure you join us during January, April and late December for a trip you won't soon forget!

Our crew will offer to clean your fish on the way back home.
Fluke & Blues

" Jersey's Best "

Our "Half Day" Schedule begins with the Fluke season. The Captain knows the Ocean & Beach locations where the fluke will be, by anticipating their next move according to the elements and conditions. Our Afternoon trips are also dedicated to fluke fishing in the Atlantic. Just to be a little different, the mates will cook up any of the Sea Robins, Sharks or Skates caught, just to offer you a taste of these "undesirable" but extremely tasty species.

We use spearing, squid & fluke bellies for catching fluke!

" Chum & Jig! "

The hearty fighting bluefish challenges the customers of the Night Hawk during day trips in the Fall and night trips during the Summer & Fall. Whether we chum or jig, the point is that, you WILL fight fish! Many customers limit out on bluefish. Kids especially love to catch these hard fighters, because most of the time it becomes their first "Big" fish!

We chum with Menhaden (Bunker). Jigs moderately priced onboard.
Striped Bass

" Gamefish Abound "

The Atlantic coast boils with bait every December as water temperatures send most of the predators to warmer seas. At the same time the Striped Bass of the Hudson, Raritan & Delaware rivers begin to school up to feast on the abundance of bait, before migrating up the rivers for winter. This is when the Night Hawk focuses on 3/4 day fishing for big stripers. Either chunking or jigging, the Captain knows how to find the schools, and offer you the chance to land a 20, 30 or even a 50 pounder! What a great way to end the years' fishing! Limit 2 keeper fish per man.
